Strange Database Issue

I am trying to move a site. The original htaccess file points the site back to the old server, no biggie, BUT the database on the old server seems to be the initial OR install, and the site is pulling in the listings... but from where!?! I looked at common.php and it IS pointing to the db I am looking at....

Check the basepath that could be the prob.

Yeah, eventhough I hadn't changed that, I still can't find where the data is being kept...
