View Full Version : Mobile DB sync to website

I've seen this discussed a bit here and there but no real answer as to how to go about doing it.

I don't want to discuss whether it's useful or practical or not in this thread. I agree with many of the arguments against doing this but the customer wants it and is willing to pay for it so...

I have OR installed on a server (internet connected) and the agents have local Apache/PHP/Mysql copies with the same hacked up OR code in place.

They want to take pictures load them locally add the listing and then have the ability to sync that into the production database.

I have parts of this working but there are some definite catches.

1) the images need to be transferred.
2) the listing IDs need to change from the local copy to the production DB.

It's sort of the the "Upload Homes" mod someone requested earlier this month. There has to be a way to do it.

Anyone want to help a bit? All my code is comming back to the community once I get it to work. just like the FPDF code I wrote for them.

hi j

it would not be a problem as long as the server online does
not get touched..

No agents added
no listings added etc etc..

If it does my way will not work.

Then you have the problem with win or your local machine

changing the db listings to lower case, online it must be

a mixed of upper and lower case. I know !!!!!!!!!! 5 hours later pulling what ever hair i have left

let me know if you still want to do it.....Al
