View Full Version : fairly comprehensive integration

This site isn't quite live but so far I'm very happy with how it's turned out. If anyone has any criticisms or comments, please pass them on. :) (would rather hear anything before the site goes live)

Edit: test site no longer up....see below for URL for live site.

Once I get some payment I'm planning to make a contribution to OR.

The site includes cached dynamic content such as mortage rates, local weather (remote content that's pulled in every 10 minutes via cron), rss news feeds, a modification of the listing_browse to provide detailed featured listings on the front page and some other goodness.

Very nice site.
I like your dropdown menu, did you happen to post a template for it?

No....I pretty much ripped apart OR to the point where I can't just publish a template for the site.

As far as the menu, we spent a lot of time working on a cross-browser compatible menu system (a lot harder than we thought at the beginning). We ended up using youngpup javascript menu wrapped inside CSS div's that were wrapped inside tables. Kinda crazy....

You can find the menu here.

A great looking site. One of the best I've seen here. I was am having problems with saved listings etc... on my version of the site because I wanted to include descriptions in the browse pages...I see you have also included descriptions, but not used any of the member stuff.

I think I may go that route, as well.

One thing I did notice that needs some attention: the pdf that downloaded for one of the properties had the text written over the image and was kind of hard to read.

Creating dynamic PDFs with PHP is great, but a bit tricky to say the least. I spent a whole day getting it to work properly on another site I built for a client (not an OR site). You can have a look at it here: http://www.rock-l.com

Anyway, great job an dgood luck
