View Full Version : Once upon an or dream

I have taken OR and stripped it. used only select elements and created several of my own to bring the site to life. i am currently working on the default theme to display all the information. This project is roughly a 3 work days old.

-No member database. this is a admin only site. The admin section is very nicely put together and content easy to get to and manage.
-Menu system. is based off two tables, Adding menu items is very easy. as well as creating new types. Lunch Dinner whatever. sorting is all built in as well. the page only needs the menu number to display the complete menu correctly.
-Pictures are nice. and of course there.
-Interchangeable Themes. The site is setup to handel themes in a very strait forward and highly customizable way. with control like you would see on csszengarden.com. its very nice.
-More to come. though this project should be complete within a few days.

anyway here is the link hope you like it. (Design is still being worked on)

Awsome design!...Don't screw it up lol

The property submenu links on the right side of the listing browse which are dark blue are hard to see because their backdrop is also dark blue.

nice site

the work you have done on way the listings layout really fits in well with what your trying to achive with a directory style website, good work, don't forget to give back to the coummunity, so others can benifit from your hard work....

however there is very little OR left in this one. but its based very much off it. once finished i will create a basic but attractive theme and release it to you minions of or. thats the nice thing about theme control. its good stuff.

check out the new features. listings contain fields for specials and services. these contain keywords that used as part of the search feature. anytime you see listing results its based off a search though the database.

the coolest thing about these searches is they are single lines. you search the site like you would the web. the listings are not detailed enough at the moment to take full advantage of it but stop by and check it out.

there are two searches, the basic one from the front page and the one used to view listing types, and then there is the directory search. it searches all records including basic records. (ones without a listing view page)

the initial field was too short. and the edit_listings would not actually update the website. all fixed now just got to update the listings.

i changed all the website links to just www. go figure. i have roughly 250+ listings in there now all searchable. my room mate says it will take me about 80 hours to get all 3000 in there lol. but will see. thanks for the glitch info. glad you like it all so far. the theme will undergo some changes but first i have a client who has actually paid me money so i have to go work on his project. using OR as a base of course =]
