Theme: greenagent
I've just half finished a green looking agent template for OR, i'm going to use this on a farms for sale site, this theme has a flash header and will require you to edit the flash source file to place in the urls for each section, ( 5minute job if you no what your doing), the only problem using flash in templates is that urls have to placed in the flash, like site.com/listingbrowse.php etc, so you have to change these 6 items
I have also made a seperate add on index page which can be called from the index page only, i might even create a sellers and privacy page with some generliased info.
I'll get the files sorted and posted in the next few days
Having a little problem with the status of a surfer in the top left corner area of this theme, trying to fiqure out a simple funticon in the stlye.php that can be used to determin wether a user is a guest or a member that has already signed up.....
i.e
Welcome Guest, sign up now
or
Welcome User123, goto saved listings/searchs account etc

AWT:Your template looks good. Have you considered sharing greenEA, greenEA2, and CleanAgent? - CleanAgent is the one I got inspiration from when I designed my 601_01 template

The design is excellent. However, there are some problems from a usability perspective: Flash should not be used for navigation as over 15% of users don't use flash. I believe this will become more of a problem because of recent advertising trends to plaster flash ads over 1/3 of their web sites. A second problem is that 2/3 of page is used before getting to the main business of the site. There is an excellent article on "Above the Fold" at http://alistapart.com.
I did a usability makeover of the design using css/xhtml and no flash. Here is a screen shot: http://cssdesignmagic.com/colors/greenagent_scr.jpg

Yes flash is inefficent, and yes CSS IS NOT... CSS Rocks... But flash is cool. Get over it. Relators love it, it is easy to implement, and it looks "pretty" anyone without the ability to view flash has a really old computer and old browser. Flash is beautiful! I do not like 100% flash sites, but I understand putting in a nice flash header or animation has it's benefits

yeah i agree with you that large headers can sometimes take up alot of page space, i myself don't like huge navs, but some poeple do, if your a agent with say 10-20 listing only they can tend to get away with a big nav area, as its trying to build branding of there service or similar.
your aslo right in the fact that must poeple never use flash even tho flash mx is so easy to use, editing flash source can be just as easy as designing html.
i guess everone can use dreamweaver but never spend the time working with flash, therefore doing complex headers, navs or other flash items aren't going to be of use to the average person using OR. if simple how to guides or docs where included, on walk threws of how to edit flash items in flashmx, this might be usefull. otherwise your only going to get loads of users asking questions on the board
its probably better tho to stay away from flash nav items and only do universal headers, graphics or animations that can easy be dropped in favour of a gif or jpeg image
