Change domain name

I had another developer set up my site we linked two domain names to it .I need to know how to change the main domain over to the second domain as we have sold the first name.
I am using dreamweaver mx.
When I tried to find and replace all it did not work .;
Please help I am a basic developer and just learning.

You can rerun the install from the correct domain and select Change BasePath/Baseurl to update the url open-realty uses.

I am building a number of OR sites and wish to use a modified database for local installations. I have tried to restore the old database to a new domain, but this fails badly with errors realting to the path of the old database. Can I do this, or is it a major drama?
