I would like to replace the text links such as:
{link_calc}
{link_add_favorites}
{link_printer_friendly}
{link_email_friend}
{link_map}
{link_yahoo_school}
{link_yahoo_neighborhood}

with graphic links. I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge of this stuff but just cannot get the graphic links to populate with the correct links ie: '{link_calc}' gets populated with somethng like 'index.php?action=calculator&popup=yes&price=144900' when you view the listing.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

Just change the tage to something like this:

<a href="index.php?action=calculator&popup=yes&price=144900"><img src="yourimage.jpg"></a>

Thanks for the help but these graphics will be on the listing_detail_x pages and need to be _dynamically_ populated with each listing's specific details. With the potential of a few hundred listings and many agent's adding the listings themselves, hardcoding every graphic for every listing isn't really a viable option.

You could use template tags for the dynamic data. For example:

<a href="index.php?action=calculator&popup=yes&price={listing_field_price_value}"><img src="yourimage.jpg"></a>

Or edit the code that makes the {link_calc} etc but if you upgrade, you will have to re-do any changes. The code for the links is in listing.inc.php.

index.php?action=calculator&popup=yes&price={listing_field_price_value}

This would certainly be the most advantageous way to do it because upgrades would (theorhetically) not have any affect on it. The problem is that I can't get it to work. The link on the listing pages is exactly as you see it here, no information is dynamically inserted.

I am just banging my head against the wall at this point and simply "gargling" from that fountain :confused:

Just a quick word about doing what you want to do, you risk losing SEARCH ENGINE ranking etc, remeber a human call read TEXT on an image a ROBOT cannot, you link just becomes a poor link.

Using keywords in your text links helps, even though you may not think it is important!

Has anyone figured out how to turn the links on the listing page to images? For example: I want a graphic of a envelope instead of email a friend1

Please help, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks :)

You can find the output created by the tags in listing.inc.php. You can change them in that file to replace the text with an image but if you upgrade, you will probably have to re do the changes. You could also replace the tags in the listing template with the actual links and replace the text there. This way you don't have to worry about about losing your changes with future updates.
