Using template objects in external file?

Any ideas on how to use template objects from OR2.x in an external file? To be more specific...

I have a client that I helped set up an OR 1.x site about a year ago. He used this site for shameless self promotion, but offered free listings to other professionals in the area. I then took the Featured Properties from the OR site and added them to his regular site (same server, different domain name). I was also able to have his property details and such show up on his regular site.

I can't figure out, for the life of me, how to do the same thing with OR2.x. Are there some files that need to be included in order to use the template tags in a regular file? That is basically how I did it with 1.x. I included main.php and common.php and was then able to point to the OR database and pull the information I wanted.

You are not going to be able to use the template tags outside of OR. The tags must be parsed by the OR in order to replace them with the correct functions. You should be able to call the direct functions though if you include the right files.
