  2. Re: End of open-source, encrypted code and beta testing shut down.

    Can I ask you stright out Ryan if you would support a fork of OR? I have had a few interested parties contacting me after I mentioned it above. I have to stress that I have neither the PHP/SQL...
  3. Re: End of open-source, encrypted code and beta testing shut down.

    ...point taken, but did Ryan seek VC or angel funding? If he did I certainly didn't see him mention it in his "own" forums, which might have been a good place to start. Real Estate a niche market? I...
  4. Re: End of open-source, encrypted code and beta testing shut down.

    Reasonably put. I'm gonna take some time to absorb what you said and post back tomorrow. Would be very interested to hear what other parties have to say. I trust during those debates you mentioned...
  5. Re: End of open-source, encrypted code and beta testing shut down.

    I'm afraid I remain truly and utterly aghast. I refer anyone interested to this article about the benefits of open-source software. With relation to this project the chief benefits (were)...
  6. End of open-source, encrypted code and beta testing shut down.

    Well, here's the great leap forward. I thought something commercial might be happening when I got booted from SVN months ago. So who made it to the core team? I sure as hell hope Eduardo and a few...
  7. Re: Database export/import error #1170 - MySQL help required

    Hi Paul, Thanks for your response, and for putting my mind at rest.

    I tried a little export on a local database, and there it is! The (255) as you indicated. On the live database it is missing.

  8. Database export/import error #1170 - MySQL help required

    Hi all,

    I am trying to sync up a remote (live) database with a development database locally (XAMPP). Some of the fields on the live database have no value (not NULL, they are "no value"). Let's...
  9. Re: Letting agents see the "edit page" link. Was this change I made safe?

    I tried :( For some reason I find the whole addon system completely beyond me. Let's face it, the documentation is woefully poor (unless you're a seasoned php programmer I guess). What's needed is...

    Re: Changing a Favicon?

    Try emptying your cache, and I have noticed previously that you have to completely restart your browser to see it change. Weirdly.
  11. Re: Letting agents see the "edit page" link. Was this change I made safe?

    Thanks Eduardo. Bug report? did you mean "feature request"? I think it is acting as intended and only "admins" are allowed to see the EDIT link on the front end. Is there a bug here? Please advise....
  12. Re: Letting agents see the "edit page" link. Was this change I made safe?

    Yes, working perfectly thanks. Would still like to hear from a php expert whether both these approaches are "secure". One has to be a bit paranoid about letting just anyone edit pages! haha

    Thanks...
  13. Re: Letting agents see the "edit page" link. Was this change I made safe?

    Ah, that looks interesting, I'll check it out :) I quite agree about the page editor of course - it's strictly for the client and they've been told to leave all the buttons alone! haha

    I wanted...
  14. Letting agents see the "edit page" link. Was this change I made safe?

    Hi all,

    I wanted my agents to be able to edit pages. (The agents are simply four employees of the same company). Even when they are granted page editing permissions I can't get the handy "EDIT"...

    Thanks for taking the time to come back and post your solution, many people don't do that, so thanks.
  16. Temporary relief for us admin panel designers. Attaching classes (etc) via jQuery

    Hi all. Firstly, I have finally got moving to request that some id's and classes get liberally scattered over the admin pages. I even live in hope that that pesky 715px width will get removed from...

    Re: Formatting issue with listing display

    Not sure where to start. You say "simple HTML" but I'm afraid to my eyes that template is far, far from simple. I will tell you bluntly it's a complete mess. It's full of tables that don't need to be...
  18. Re: Proposition: beta testing before adding link to new versions

    Registering my interest as beta-tester. I guess that as I pretty much always use SVN...even on live sites (I know....but I trust you :)) I am a beta tester already?
  19. Re: Featured listings jQuery powered not working in my website

    Try adding another featured listing please. I think there's a bug that hides the first (and in your case "only") listing. There is an easy work around, but it doesn't validate, so I am hesitant to...

    Re: ie6 No More addon

    Yes I forgot about those poor lost souls! haha. I have been using jQuery cookies for some time to great effect. You could implement them very easily like so:

    Re: Class search stopped working

    Re: ie6 No More addon

    Excellent stuff. I already integrated something very similar manually. As for cookies. It would be trivial with jQuery.Cookie, but why implement it? Nag 'em every time is my approach. If they don't...

    Re: drop down field length

    The code to control the length is on line 345 of your css file:

    select {
    border:1px solid #CCCCCC;
    margin-bottom:2px;
    width:200px;
    }

    But you are not inserting the table holding the form...
