    Default How to Rewrite Seo Friendly URL in Open Realty

    Hi Friends,

    I am an administrator of a FSBO | Private Sale website. I am new to Open Realty and using version 2.5.3 and OR9010 Template and all I want to do now is to change Standard URL to SEO Friendly URL. I have tried it myself by using seo option in site config tab but when I refresh page it shows me "PAGE NOT FOUND ERROR" I have tried it many time but no luck. Please help me

    First of all Thanks for Helping,

    I had never used .htaccesss file before. I open .htaccess file but it's blank how it will help me in rewriting URL I have heard we have to write some rules of URL in it. Can you please give me step by step guidance for that, Thanks in advance

    Ii already have .htaccess on the my server but still it is not working.

    Read the docs. You need to take the .htaccess-or file from the OR distribution, rename it .htaccess, and upload it to your server.

    I am new to Open realty. Will I get this .htaccess file from any open realty sources. I have never rewrite URL before.

    The .htaccess file for OR is included in the zip file when you download OR. If you installed it with Fantastico or some other automated installer, you will need to go to the OR download page, download the current version, and get the htaccess file.

    You should also upgrade to the current version.

    Hi

    Once you have downloaded the .htaccess file from OR where should you upload it to within the root. for example if it was installed with fantastico the base root access for me would be public_html. however when i log in via ftp i cant see any existing .htaccess file anywhere.

    Please let me know if i need to create a new thread for this as i dont want to hijack a current issue but feel the situation is related.
