Ajax Availability Calendar

Here is an ajax based availability calendar for rental sites. Calendar can be modified by the listing owner or by admin. Hence useful for rental by owner sites.
I have added an availability search function with a ref search that works, based on the quicksearch addon.
There are several threads in the forum about modifying quicksearch to suit the desired search fields of any site.

See the search on http://www.betterlets.com/ as an example.

Also modified the addon so that the calendar display uses css and hence loads much faster.

If you installed one of the previous versions, you can just upload over it.

Please read the readme.txt file for configuration options etc.

Addon updated 11 September to include Addon Manager functions
Also includes more detailed instructions on customisation.

Please note updating will not change your stored property availability data. But if you have customised the css files. you will need to reupload your customised css files after uploading the new version of the addon.

There are three tags available
{addon_bookingcal_link} Availability calendar and update function on listing page
{addon_bookingcal_search} Quicksearch function with availability search integrated.
{addon_bookingcal_ortypesearch} Availability search to incorporate in Open Realty standard search page.
Instructions

1. {addon_bookingcal_link}

Place addon link on listing detail template. This will produce a 12 month 3 column calendar on the listing page starting with the current month.

The no of cols can be altered at lines370 - 373 (look for //Select no of columns to show) of addon.inc.php

The no of months displayed by default can be changed at lines 322 - 324 of addon.inc.php (look for // define number months to show), change the 12 to whatever

There is a css file in addons/bookingcal/css that controls the style of the calendar shown on the listing page .

2.{addon_bookingcal_search}

This is a date search function based on the quicksearch addon. There are many threads in the Open Realty forum that explain how to configure this and it needs to be configured to match your database fields before using the .{addon_bookingcal_search} function. It is set up to be dropped into a tavle but this can be modified in the addon.inc.php file.

It is set to class, state, city, price min, price, reference id as default

The availability search shows all properties with full availability for a given period, and by default includes booked half days as available.
There is a switch at line 564 of addon.inc.php(look for $ampm='1'; ////APM 1 sets Search to ignore half days booked, 0 it includes half days as non available) Change it if neccesary default is half days ignored for availability searches.

The datepicker boxes look is controlled by addons/bookingcal/calendar.css

3. {addon_bookingcal_ortypesearch}

If you prefer to use the full standard OR search function, you can add an availability search by changing the following lines in your search template


At top of search
<form action="index.php" method="get"> to
<form action="index.php?action=addon_bookingcal_searchre sults" method="get">
At bottom of search
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="searchresults" />
to
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="addon_bookingcal_searchresults" />
and putting {addon_bookingcal_ortypesearch} inside the form. This generates two input boxes with datepicker calendars + text as shown from line 407 and forward.

Availability

This limits results to properties with full availability over the chosen period

NB
addon_bookingcal_searchresults is the full or search function + code to deal with availability. + searchRef added to give a listing reference search.

Usage

The availability calendar of each listing can be modified/updated on the public side by the listing agent who listed it or by anyone with admin privs. Obviously they have to be logged in..

left click ...................marks a date as booked
Ctrl + left click............. Morning booked
Shift + left click............. Afternoon/evening/night booked
A left click in a date that is booked clears the date
