Default Connect (login) with facebook account?

    Hi,

this days I see more and more sites with "connect (log in) with facebook account" so I wonder how this work, and could we use such thing on open realty site?

Anyone interested, please post your opinion here. If many of you are interested in such feature, maybe we could ask devs to add this option in next Open Realty release.

    Thank you

I give this idea two thumbs down.

    It's a huge security headache.

Do you think on security problem related to all OR user type accounts (members, agents, admin) or just on admins?

I see some very serious portals allowing this type of connection (I don't believe that they are not informed about possible security problems, just my opinion)

I have read (not so long ago) about bad security of any system with one user/pass and many services (like google), because system is secure as worst part of chain.

It that what you have in mind?

How this "connect with facebook account" works?

    Thank you

    1) Crapbook account gets hacked

    2) OR account gets hacked via association.

    3) Hacker profits.

High visibility sites like Crapbook are big targets for hacking, phishing and other nefarious activities, making it the weak link in the chain.

I think it's an awesome idea. I would even pay for this kind of addon.

I implemented facebook login on my OR page, however it is not connected with the OR login.
I just can say that way more visitors use the facebook login than the regular login with the registration.
However, you should keep in mind that you are not able to fetch the visitors email address via facebook.
I think it works great if you are interested in having your users sign up for something. Many webpages such as cnn.com use this feature by now so I don't think you have to worry about security issues but I may be wrong

to see facebook login on OR webpage:

Did you use an addon to get it done on your site.

Can you share how you got it done or is there a cost for it?

    Thank You
