    Default ListingID value in featured listing

    I searched and did not find an answer.

    Is there a way to get the ListingID value to show in the "featured_listing_vertical.html"
    {listingid} does not work.

    Want to show listingid somewhere between these tags

    {featured_listing_block}
    Listing ID: xxxxxxxx
    {/featured_listing_block}

    Any Ideas?

    There is a way to get this. However, I will have to post it in the sandbox section since it requires some modification to one OR file. What version of OR are you using?

    Actually it is not possible - not even with an add-on using only PHP. See:

    I believe it can be done using jQuery. I will look at it. Maybe we can have it with the jQuery4OR add-on.
    About core file modification... it is HIGHLY not recommended.

    Well...see if this works with the core modification (listing.inc.php) posted in the Sandbox

    Maybe a addon solution can be implemented from it.

    An addon solution would be fantastic. I've been waiting for a very long time for this feature to be added.

    In the feature request it lists target version as 2.6.0 which will be a while yet, so if you have an addon solution it would be great...

    I don't wan to get into trouble here but I don't see why we need an addon when it was so easy to modify the core. I am using SVN why can't this be added to it?

    This forum is so rich with knowledge and we just found out that it can be done and how to do it.

    This is a great forum and we just found a solution to something so if I am not overstepping my bounds, I think it should be added to the upcoming 2.5.8.

    You don't think O-R Dev's didn't know HOW to do that, right?
    At the sandbox, you found the solution to have a functional template tag {featured_id} to be used at featured template files... first, for semantics, it should be {listingid} - but it still cannot be used at add-ons (YOU don't need it).
    We "need" more than just have a functional template tag. This tag "need" the correspondent PHP variable so it can be used with add-ons (for example, as a global). This small detail will force O-R DEV's to rewrite those functions at the core and this is planned to be done for Open-Realty v.2.6.0 - this way, the tag {listingid} will be functional at featured template files and also to be used at add-ons (for example, as $current_ID).

    I have just commited at SVN (rev.2472) the change you asked - now waiting approval from Mick and/or from Ryan - if approved, O-R DOCs will need to be updated and the template tag {listingid} will be functional at featured template files.

    It still don't work at add-ons.
