    Default Mobile Templates

I'm starting to work on and test mobile browser detection for Open-Realty and configuration options to set the site template based on the mobile browser that is detected.

I am looking at having configuration options for setting a specific site template based on:

    Android
    iPhone/iPod Touch
    Blackberry
    Windows Mobile
    Palm
    Opera Mini
    Generic Mobile browser

I'll be adding several new template tags to Open-Realty for mobile browser templates to keep things small (thumbnails and images) and formatted to the smaller displays.

    Where I need help:

My skill set is not with html/xhtml/css/wap markup. If anybody has already designed mobile browser templates then I would appreciate a little help in designing two basic mobile templates to be included with Open-Realty. I'm thinking of one mobile template for Smartphones (Android/iPhone/Windows Mobile) and one for generic mobile browsers.

The smart phone template will have a bit more to it since the smartphone browsers have a little more capabilities than generic phones.

Ultimately the end user will be able to set a specific template for each type of phone if they want to design one for each phone type.

If anybody has some experience with mobile templates/browsers and wants to help out with this let me know and I'll get with you about what I'm doing with this.

    Mick,

Send me over whatever info you have. I've never worked with mobile templates but willing to learn something new. I also have adobe device central which can emulate what something will look like on various phones.

What I would love is a BB friendly template for the forum.

    Count with me too...

Paul, about a year ago I started to write some codes for my personal Website. Please visit eduardomarques DOT com - believe me, I never tested it! LOL
What you see with a mobile? If it is working, maybe that helps Mick.

On my BB I get the following:

Our script detected that you are using a handheld/mobile browser and this website is not ready for it. Sorry!

The detection works alright . Just tested it with Mobile Safari (iPhone) and I get the same message:

    Hello Eduardo,

could you please send me the code too. I need it for a huge, none Open-Realty project I am working on right now.

Thanks in advanced and speak to you later,
    Gregor

    Greetings gents,

No need to ask someone else what your site looks like on a iPhone. You can use this script designed by a guy who was tired about not being able to show his clients sites in mobile browser format.

You must have Safari installed on your computer for this app to work. Once Safari is installed, just use execute the .exe file in the folder and once it loads type in the URL. Very cool app. Does not install anything on the system and runs from the folder.
