    Default Search Field Query!

Hope somebody can advise on this one!

Basically I'm using an installation of OR for car sales purposes rather than property.

The search fields are set up for things like Make, Model etc. So people can search for something like Ford, and see all the Fords that are listed.

They can also go into search for Model seperately, for example Focus.

However....if people search by make....and choose one particular manufacturer, the model dropdown field does not refine it's options to the models that are applicable to that manufacturer. You just see all the models in the dropdown for all the makes.

So what I wanted to know is how is it possible to get the Make dropdown selector update it's available choices according to the manufacturer that has been selected?

    All advice appreciated!

Yes, that's how OR's automatic form generation works. You can always hardcode your search form in your template, and incorporate the javascript necessary to do what you want.

There is also a "chained select" add-on produced by another member here that may do what you want:

    Just an update on this!
I bought Gregor's addon and it really is excellent. Needed his skills to pick up on my errors and he was there to help me out.
    Great product, great support!
