    Default search form

    I'm trying to post a customizable search form on my front page. How do I go about doing that? The blank space on the top right is where I would like to position it.

    Url: http://www.younger-associates.com/~r...alty/index.php

    Here's a screenshot of how I want the fields to look. Is this possible?

    Anything is possible ;-)

    From your page's source it looks like you already have a div set up for that:
    HTML Code:
    <div id="search">

    </div>
    Assuming it is positioned properly you should just be able to drop the code for your search form inside that div... although you may have to adjust the CSS to position things properly

    Thanks,

    As far as the code, could you point me in the right direction with using template tags in achieving that kind of search form? Or can this only be done with PHP/SQL only by querying the database? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Do a search here for "quick search". You can design a custom form to look however you want as your HTML/CSS skills will allow for.

    The quick and dirty method is to simply copy the rendered <form> from the OR Search page out of your browser, and then modify that to your liking for your form.

    Also, this could be handy:
    http://open-realty.org/docs/release/3.0.11/main.html#Main_Template_Tags_22654121164

    Since you want to do this on the home page and not a custom search page the tags at the above link are what you can use.

    Thanks again.

    Is there a way to remove the "community features" searchbox that is in automatically in the {search_fields} tag?

    I have some other text fields, but I need that "community features" removed so the text fields can be pushed up, and regain that space.

    Here's my new link: http://www.younger-associates.com/~r....5.6/index.php

    Set that field to not be searchable and it won't be rendered. Otherwise, hard-code your search form.

    Ok, now how do you set that field to be "not searchable"? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Check the docs: Listing Field Editor.
