    Default Search, only possible via a Form? OR2

    I am looking at a request to use images of specific homes to link to search results by class and beds. Is this possible?

    I looked at the OR docs and if I'm reading this correct search results are via form search only...

    The code I'm trying looks like this:

    HTML Code:
    <div id="quick_search_box_content">
      <h1>Quick Search...</h1>
      <form method="get" action="http://www.mysite.com/">
        <INPUT type="image"
         SRC="http://www.mysite.com/images/listing_photos/thumb_30_listing602northwalnutst4bedroom.jpg"
         alt=""
         height="201"
         width="300"
         NAME="Beds"
         value="4"
         onclick="submit();"
         >
        <br />
        <input type="hidden" name="action" value="searchresults" />
        <input type="hidden" name="pclass[]" value="2" />
      </form>
    </div>
    And returns a url string: /?Beds.x=131&Beds.y=157&Beds=4&action=searchresults &pclass[]=2

    Which obviously will not give me the results I want. I've tried making the images a link to say, /?Beds=4&action=searchresults&pclass[]=2

    But this does not seem to work either.

    Has anyone tried something similar to this and had success or is this just wishful thinking.

    The search results page accepts form GET variables (and not POST), so you can just pass those vars in a URL and you don't have to actually use a form. This applies to any online system that accepts GET vars as their input.

    Use the OR search page to achieve the search results you want, then copy that URL out of your browser and use it for a HTML link (<a>nchor tag) around your image.

    Tip: some of the GET variables in the URL generated by your search will be empty, you can remove them from the final URL you use.

    Maybe it's just me but that is not working... I get;

    Your search returned no results. Please try a less specific search.

    Dunno' what you have going on with your search results template, switch to lazuli and try it.

    Sorry, user error... Seems more than a numeric value was entered on some listing's bedrooms
