Default Where to put Google Analytics?

I need to add the Google Analytics code, and I'm not sure which pages to add it to, and, once I know the pages, do I go directly to the pages html or php file and add it their, or do I do via the admin page editor? And if its in the html or php, does it matter where in the code I add it? Thank you for any suggestions!

You would add it to your main.html template file probably.

Where in a HTML document specifically does google recommend you place their code?

Place it in your main.html file before the closing </head> tag per the instructions in Google Analytics. If you have more than one main template file, for example page1_main.html etc then you will need to place it inside each of those templates as well in the same location. I personally use an include in each of these files so I only have to change the code once when/if needed.
