    Lightbulb search form fields tag

    search_field_FIELDNAME_element

I want to know how to use it properly - I am creating a custom search page that will require some playing with certain search types that are not already provided by OR's default search tags.

Replace "FIELDNAME" with the actual OR field name of the form field you wish to generate.

If you have a field named "price" in OR for example and put {search_field_price_element} in your custom template it will display the form field (form element) used for "price" on that page.

I'd suggest viewing the source of a working OR search page to get the <form> layout OR uses.

    Hi SK,

I didn't know the existence of that template tag so I am learning here too...
I inserted at "search_page_default.html" the tag {search_field_price_element} and it is replaced only by:
"<!--Search Box 1 Render Time 0.000 -->" and nothing else.
So I tried {search_field_community_features_element} and got the same.

Could you please check it or give us a more detailed explanation on how to use it?

    Thanks,
    Eduardo

Before posting I went to the DOCs and had read that. After reading that I realized the existence of that tag. So I tried... I still don't know how to use it.

Notice it is returning a "0" rendering time. Maybe we have a bug here?

Glad to see I'm not alone on this tag. I will post back if there is any success on my part. Thank you SK.

Any luck with the {search_field_FIELDNAME_element} tag? I'm having the same issue. I try to use the tag in my templated search form, but nothing shows up. Any body have the same issue? or know the solution?

    Thanks!

It's broken in v3.0.12 and has been reported as such and fixed.

The next OR update is pending, so you won't have to wait long.

(No, I don't know when exactly, I just know it's coming soon.)
