    Default SEO-Friendly Listing url not working properly

    I'm using OR v 3.0.12. I've turned on SEO-friendly URLs using "-" and it is all working fine except for the listing section. It will pull up the list of listings just fine but when you click on a particular listing to view it it is not completing the URL with the listing SEO title.
    For Instance:

    http://www.ricktravers.com/rets/open.../listing/.html

    In Site Configuration I have the slug set to "listing/" and the URL set to "{listing_seotitle}.html"

    I am using the .htaccess that came with OR v 3.0.12

    What am I doing wrong?

    I need to add that when I click on a Featured Listing, it works just fine. It only messes up when clicking on a listing from search results

    Please check your listing ID4 - in my opinion, it is missing the SEO Title form field. If I am right, you may have others listings missing the same field value (maybe also listing ID7, 8, 9, ...?).

    I am having the same issue, what is listing ID4? where do i look to see if these form fields are there? When I go in the listing editor for a property, under "title" there is "SEO Title" but there is nothing in it.

    Version 3.0.12, URL type search engine friendly turned on, space character set to -, and My .htaccess looks like this

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    # SEARCH ENGINE FRIENDLY URLS FOR Open-Realty

    <IfModule mod_php5.c>
    php_value session.use_trans_sid 0
    </IfModule>
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    #Turn on GZIP Compression in Apache
    <IfModule mod_deflate.c>
    AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml text/css application/x-httpd-php application/javascript application/x-javascript
    </IfModule>
    # SET 1 Month Cache
    <FilesMatch "\.(ico)$">
    <IfModule mod_headers.c>

    Listing ID4 is a listing assigned to the ID number 4.

    Logged as admin at backend, click at "Site Config" icon and click at "SEO Links" tab.
    At "Permanent Links, look the first one: "Listing URL"

    IF... in front of "URI" you have "{listing_seotitle}.html" then Open-Realty will use at the URLs the value present at "SEO Title" (a field you will see while EDITING listings) and of course, you will need to have at ALL listings this field ("SEO Title") with a value set (it cannot be empty).

    IF... in front of "URI" you have "{listing_title}-{listing_id}.html" then Open-Realty will use at the URLs the value present at "Title" and "Listing ID".

    You can have a third type as said at O-R DOCs. You can create custom settings where you define the Slug and URI for your custom SEO Friendly URLs.

    Eduardo,

    This seems to be fine as well. I had {listing_field_address_value}-{listing_field_city_value}-{listing_field_state_value}-{listing_field_zip_value}-{listing_field_city_value}-{listing_field_state_value}-MLS-{listing_field_mls_value}.html in the URI field and then I tried something more basic like you posted {listing_title}-{listing_id}.html but it still does not produce SEO friendly links. Could there be something else going on?

    OK, I have discovered something else. In each listing under SEO Title, the field is blank in ALL my listings, the only way for the field to become populated is to click the Update button at the bottom of the page, when the button is pressed, the SEO Title field gets populated with the title of my listing. If I go into the admin area and then use {listing_seotitle}.html , it will work but only for listings that I have manually clicked the update button on. If I have not clicked the update button, then the links will not work to view the listing.

    The "old style" of SEO friendly URLs does not work at all.

    Did I explain this ok?

    I don't know if those tags works at the URI field. I will be VERY surprised if it does!

    Assuming links from "featured_listing_#.html", make sure your links are hardcoded as "{featured_url}".
    For example: <a href="{featured_url}" title="{listing_title}">{listing_title}</a>

    Assuming links from "search_result_#.html", make sure your links are hardcoded as "{link_to_listing}".
    For example: <a href="{link_to_listing}" title="{listing_title}">{listing_title}</a>

    See O-R DOC's for the proper template tags shall be used.

    As I said at my previous post, IF and ONLY IF... you are going to use "{listing_seotitle}.html" at URI, this field CANNOT be empty. If you are NOT going to use "{listing_seotitle}.html" at URI, don't care if it is empty or not.

    No, it is NOT the only way. You can use your keyboard and manually type a text at this field. Notice "SEO Title" value needs to be unique.

    Check the links at your HTML template files.
