wiht something impotant as current version etc is there a way to have a 'profile' that would include that information and used as a signature?

Funnily enough I was thinking of this a few weeks ago when I read another forum post and the writer was berated for not including this information
Your idea is sound as long as everyone remembered to update their profile each time there is a version update. Another option maybe would be to have a box attached to the posting box that requested the version number before a new thread could be started.
Perhaps the simplest way would be by default, i.e. a message that appears when a new thread is requested, asking the writer to say so if their version is anything other than whatever the latest one is at the time.
Incidentally, I don't understand why your thread was moved to the area that is for matters not related to Open Realty, because unless I've totally misunderstood your point it most definitely is related!
This thread was moved because it is not Open-Realty related, it's forum software related.
As with most common forum software you can create a custom signature within your profile that contains your site information or whatever. Click on "settings" at the top of the forums.
