    Default Ratings System (O-R Ratings)

    I made this and thought I should share it.
    I hope it will be of use to someone.
    O-R Ratings for user and listing

    orate = listing rating
    urate = user rating

    (1) Unzip the file orate.zip and upload to you root directory maintaining the exact director structure as extracted.
    File Content
    ================================================== ===========================
    images/tb_back.gif // Ratings bar graphics (change as you whish
    image/ratings/1star.gif // Stars for ratings
    image/ratings/1.5star.gif
    image/ratings/2star.gif // up to 5stars.gif
    orate/ // Ratings file
    - message.txt // Message ofter a vote is submitted
    - orate.php // Ratings file
    - rateval.txt // Stores the ratings results (must be CHMOD to 666 or 777, writable)
    - README.txt // This file (Help)
    (2) Go to orate/rateval.txt and CHMOD that file (rateval.txt) to 666 to make it writeable.
    (3) Add the following line to your listingview.php where you want the ratings bar to show up.
    Code:
    include("orate/orate.php");
    in php section
    or
    Code:
    <?php include 'orate/orate.php';?>
    in the html code section
    The rating will be specific to each listing
    IP based tracking is also done. So the rating done by a user from a ipaddress on a listing will be considered only once.
    ===========================
    pretty much the same for urate.zip
    =============================

    ReadMe.txt included for help (need not copy this content)

    Demo here http://www.windsorrealty.ca/listingview.php?listingID=1
    scroll to bottom to see ratings bar (try it too).

    Hope this helps someone

    For those who have downloaded this the first day (JULY 10). Please re-download. I just did some fix for the stars display so it can sow every ratings withing intervals above and below .5.

    Bottom line, if you got it on JULY 10 2004, just grab it again.

    YES AL. (grab it again).

    After you grab it, just replace orate.php and that's it.
    P.S
    If you got it after JULY 10 2004, this message is not for you, and no, it will not self distruct in 5 seconds...

    Cool Interested in ratings for agents.

    I would like to create something like this to rate the agents. Maybe something that would let users rate an agent if they have bought from the agent. Any tips or pointers apperciated. :?

    Interested in this because the only one really qualified to rate a property is the buyer. But.... once the property is bought whats the use for others.

    Guess its still of high use for rentals. :-D

    Thanks all,
    Will
    Regards,
    Will

    What if the hokey-pokey really is what it's all about?

    I dont think this will work with the latest version. Any change somebody can modify it or explain how to enable it. Would really love the feature.

    Bump, has anyone developed anything like this for the latest release of OR, or will this actually work still?

    As far I know, JNT has something similar:

    But for "real estate" sites, I recommend read this:
