How to install a template

simple to install

A) To install your template make a folder called What ever (open-realty-templates)
upload all its contents into the open realty template directory folder.

B) Log into admin select site config, see Template Settings then
Site Template: Select your design.

C) Go To the bottom of page and save changes, and thats it logout and go.

If you have an Open Realty web site and are now upgrading to the new version
open realty 2.5.2 you will need to also update your template to make it work.

There has been two areas where you will need to update your template.

1. You will now need to add next_prev.html to your template folder.

We have enclosed a zip file to help, just pop it into your template folder.

2. This is an addded option to Open-Realty 2.5.2 and its the FILE ATTACHMENTS / File Download Templates.

There are 2 areas for this and the main being the For Listing Template.
the code you will be using is {files_listing_NAME} where NAME is the name of the featured listings template included in your template directory. For example using the included templates:

Using {files_listing_vertical} will use files_listing_vertical.html while using {files_listing_horizontal} will use files_listing_horizontal.html.

Ok, I did all that, but how do I program the buttons, page title, etc? I am doing this for the flash template.

Hello, when i download a template and i upload it on template/templatename folder, and i choose this one, main.html is missing. How can i do to repair my problem?

Are you downloading a template designed for version 2.0? If you are, the main.html file should not be missing.

I have had the same problem the main.html was missing then i would copy it into the folder and then I would be missing the css pages so are you saying these are non 2.0 temps this has happened to 3 or 4 differnet ones thatI have tried

If the download does contain the main.html file then it is for 2.0. It sounds like they are being uploaded to the wrong location. All templates should look like template/templatename/main.html (and the other files).

Make sure you check the folder structure in the download. Some people already have the folder sturcture setup within the download. Some you could extract to the root folder and they will be saved in the right location. Some could be uploaded to the template folder, and other require that you create the template/templatename folder before uploading.

Is there a "How to create a template for OR" section anywhere? I understand parts of the template doc section... I see the pages like search_page_default.html and that is great because that is the code I need to insert into my template but, where are the pages where all the actual html is inserted? What makes OR so confusing to me is that it's broken up into a header footer and that vertical menu to the left. I can't find a way of breaking away from that the php code in my own 1 page design.

Are you trying to change the layout of the search page? If that is the question, search for "csssearch", that addon will enable you to define CSS for the search page. I also updated it to include OR search logic that was integrated into OR later on.

HTML is produced via PHP, related files are in include folder, I would advise against changing them, as the rule "don't change core files" you must have read before. But it would make sense to examine them to learn.
